Your Questions, Answered

  • We provide a complete model for athlete recovery, reintegration, and human performance restoration — built by athletes, for athletes. Our work combines nervous system and cognitive recalibration, long-term mentorship and integration support, evidence-informed therapeutic interventions, and independent scientific research and measurement. Rather than treating isolated symptoms, we focus on restoring the whole human system: adaptability, emotional regulation, executive functioning, and long-term wellbeing.

  • The journey begins with a conversation. Reach out through our Contact page and our team will walk you through screening, preparation, and what to expect. From there, athletes move through preparation, a therapeutic retreat experience, and ongoing integration support designed to last well beyond the retreat itself.

  • Most interventions treat symptoms in isolation. We address the integrated human system. AJH sits at the intersection of human performance, neuroscience, trauma recovery, and integrative healthcare — pairing real therapeutic work with independent scientific measurement. And because our program is led by people who have lived the transition out of elite sport, every athlete is met with genuine understanding, not just clinical protocol.

  • You can reach us through the Contact page on this site. We welcome athletes seeking support, as well as researchers, strategic advisors, and partners who share our belief that elite performance must also include a better system for recovery. You can reach us anytime via our contact page or email. We aim to respond quickly—usually within one business day.

  • Athletes Journey Home is a nonprofit. Our work is made possible through philanthropic partners and aligned collaborators, which allows us to focus on the athlete's recovery rather than their ability to pay. If you'd like to discuss participation or support our mission, please reach out through the Contact page.

  • Athletes describe an experience focused on recalibration, not quick fixes. Across our early work, participants have reported meaningful improvements in emotional regulation, quality of life, connectedness, and mental clarity. You'll be supported before, during, and long after the retreat — with mentorship and integration that treat recovery as an ongoing journey, not a single event.Collaborative, honest, and straightforward. We're here to guide the process, bring ideas to the table, and keep things moving.
